Annie Baillargeon est une artiste qui vit et travaille à Québec. Son travail en solo englobe, la photographie, l'installation, la vidéo et la performance. Elle fait également partie du collectif Les Fermières Obsédées dont les performances et les manœuvres insufflent depuis 2001 une indiscipline au genre de l'art action. Parallèlement, elle développe un travail qui se situe à la croisée des genres et des médiums, principalement axé sur l'utilisation du corps comme véhicule de questionnements sur les enjeux existentiels de l'individu. Utilisant le corps humain en tant que motif, elle le réduit à une échelle infiniment petite. Elle le démultiplie par des moyens numériques afin de tisser de façon chorégraphique des historiettes et des énigmes. Elle invite le regard du spectateur à basculer dans des univers loufoques, caustiques et tragiques qui questionnent la condition humaine rappellent la tyrannie psychotique collective et individuelle de notre société. Outre quelques expositions solo dans des centres d'artistes au Québec et au Canada, elle participe à l'exposition collective L'envers des apparences au Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal et au festival Contact image à Toronto. Son travail fut également diffusé au Brésil, Mexique, Équateur, Cardiff, Irlande, Australie, Pologne et quelques endroits a Canada.

Artist Annie Baillargeon lives and works in Québec City. Her solo work features photography, installation art, video, and performance art. She is also member of the collective Les Fermières Obsédées whose performances and operations, since 2001, inject indiscipline into the art action genre. At the same time, she produces work at the cross-section of genres and media and focuses principally on the use of the body as a questioning vector of the individual's existential stakes. Using the human body as the motif, she reduces it to an infinitely small scale. She then demultiplies it digitally and weaves together choreographically anecdotes and enigmas. The viewer's attention is attracted to strange, caustic, and tragic universes that raise questions about the human condition and evoke the collective and individual psychotic tyranny of our society. In addition to a few solo exhibitions in artist centres in Québec and Canada, she has taken part in the group exhibition L'Envers des apparences at the Musée d'art contemeporain de Montréal as well as the Contact Image festival in Toronto.
